Your Hallmark Red Competition

Last month, I entered a contest on the Hallmark site to create a card for a competition they started with (PRODUCT)RED. I was really excited to enter, and even more excited when I found out I was a semi-finalist in the contest. Earlier tonight, I received a phone call saying that I've been chosen as one of the ten finalists! Here's where it takes on the Prom Queen Effect: the winner of the contest is being chosen through a mass online vote that ends January 11th. Time to spread the word! If you have a moment, please vote for my design! The ten final entries will also be available for purchase through the Hallmark site starting December 28th, with 8% of the net sales going to the Global Fund, so that is quite awesome as well.

I really want to post some newer work on here, but with the network moving as slow as molasses I doubt I'll get to do that before I leave town for the break. Check back soon!

Aw, mash again?

This is something I whipped up for an open assignment in my Illustration class. I have this idea for a story concerning the classic monsters of old movies and folklore, but I've yet to work out a complete plot from beginning to end. The piece I'm working on for class right now is related to the same story; I hope to get it all worked out and eventually make a childrens' book.

First post in a new space. Here's to (hopefully) consistency and frequent posting! To start with, here's a painting from my Illustration class last semester - gouache on tile. I would advise not working on tile unless you're like me, and have a bunch of them left over from a previous project.
